Sea Turtle Preservation Tour

Sea Turtle Preservation Tour

During the last several years the Treasure Beach Turtle Group (TBTG) has done an amazing job of turning around an area known for hunting sea turtles and their eggs to preserving them now making Treasure Beach the second largest recorded sea turtle nesting area in Jamaica.

Just last summer in less than a mile stretch of beach we recorded a total of 145 nestings; 18 in June, 42 in July, 39 in August, 29 in September and 17 in October. This translates to approximately 21,750 hatchings!

This experience only available June thru November will give you the chance to witness these events first hand!

Spend from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. walking the nesting beach in search of Hawksbills nesting or eggs hatching. Tasks include measuring the turtle tracks, tagging the nests, counting the hatched eggs in the nests and collecting data. We will pick you up at your accommodation and bring you to the nesting beach where you will be briefed by your guide on the appropriate way to interact with the sea turtles and hatchings. You then assist your guides in patrolling the beach looking for nestings or hatchings.

Contact us for pricing as it is determined by season and group size.
